Emotional Education : Spring Cleaning

March is a month where we focus on spring cleaning, purging, giving stuff away, and nesting to make room for more of what we care about and love. We even (on Sunday!) turn our clocks back to let go of evening darkness and let in more light!

Right before Spring is a time when our hearts, souls, minds, and bodies want to release what is no longer serving us to make room for more good. This is the pattern of the seasons! One of the coolest things I found out about after I started using oils was how beneficial they can be to help us let go of negative thoughts, stuck emotions, and body tension!

HERE IS A BASIC HOW-TO RELEASE EMOTIONS WITH ESSENTIAL OILS:

  1. Whenever you feel overwhelmed or uneasy, grab your favorite essential oil, or one of the many YL emotional blends (we love Valor, Forgiveness, Release, or Peace & Calming to list a few).

  2. Notice where you feel the most tension in your body. Rub some of the EO there. Massage it around a few times to let it sink into the fascia.

  3. This process is best done with body, heart, and mind all focusing on letting go! Some helpful things to ask yourself for heart and mind:

    1. What is the worst part about this?

    2. How do I want to feel about this?

    3. What can I do to help me move forward?

    4. What is another way I can think about this?

    5. What can I do to change?

  4. When you land on how you want to feel and think (*hint- it's usually the opposite of what you are currently feeling and thinking!), smell the essential oil for 12 deep breaths. Breathing deep into the diaphragm and inhaling high frequency compounds goes a LONG WAY to reset neural pathways, and overcoming being stuck.

  5. This is the most basic form of using oils for help with stuck emotions/ thoughts- a great place to start! This is a resource to help you start with either the emotion, an oil you may be loving, or the body and go from there! It doesn't matter how you come at letting go of emotions that no longer serve you, there's multiple ways to get to a new more peaceful brain state <3
